Phoenix Labs has announced that Dauntless, the action-packed monster-hunt multiplayer RPG will be leaving early access as it launches its 1.0 update on September 26th. The game hit early access on PS4 and Xbox One just months ago in May and already has plans to release on Nintendo Switch later this year.
Update 1.0, titled Aether Unbound will be the biggest update to the game so far. A new weapon called Aether Strikers will be added for players to wield. This will come in handy when facing the powerful new Dire Behemoth that now makes its way to the Shattered Isles.
After years of staying under the radar, earlier in May of this year, a select group of players in Korea were finally chosen to conduct closed testing of Nexon’s sandbox MMORPG Peria Chronicles. Now, four months later, Korean news source Invenglobal reports that Nexon has announced that “after much discussion, the development of ‘Peria Chronicles’ is stopped.”
Several internal and external tests were conducted for Peria Chronicles and Nexon concluded that the current stage of the game could not satisfy players. The project is now cancelled.
Intrepid Studios has announced that a 12-hour playtest for Ashes of Creation: Apocalypse will take place on August 20th from 11am to 11pm Pacific Time. Apocalypse is the standalone battle royale version of the Ashes of Creation MMORPG.
Bandai Namco revealed a new anime-styled MMO called Blue Protocol earlier this month and it has accumulated quite a bit of hype so far, amongst Western fans included. Over the past several weeks, lots of teasers for the new MMO in development were released including a gameplay trailer and a character creation video. The game is in Japanese and already conducted alpha tests in Japan this month.
Dragon’s Dogma Online, Capcom’s high fantasy MMORPG for the PC, PlayStation 3, and PlayStation 4 is scheduled to shut down in Japan on December 5th. The game initially launched in Japan on August 31, 2015 and never made it out to other regions. Capcom states that they have tried to support the game for players but it has become difficult to continue to provide satisfactory service.

The much-loved Double XP Weekend Event is returning to RuneScape this month and it will last for 72 hours. From July 26th through July 29th, all players will receive XP bonuses. Those with RuneScape membership benefits will receive +100% XP earned. Free players will get a smaller +20% XP earned.
New details have been revealed about Bandai Namco’s upcoming online action RPG Blue Protocol. For three days, alpha testers will get to play for several hours each day and try out the four available classes of Aegis Fighter, Blast Archer, Spell Caster, and Twin Striker.
