Wild West Online has announced a new patch update, v0.8.528 that comes with improvements to quality of life and basic game features. Players below level 20 will be forced to join the “novice servers”, a new hot bar will allow players to switch between their guns and more easily use their items, and new hair colors have been added to the character creation.
Wild West Online has stayed at a Mostly Negative rating level on Steam since the game launched on May 10, 2018. Some common criticisms are of lack of content, lack of polish when it comes to features, and lack of MMO aspects in the gameplay. Check out the full list of changes that comes with the latest update on the official forums.
Star Citizen, the highest crowd-funded MMO in record is offering a new bundle pack called The Legatus Pack for $27,000 USD. The pack includes almost every ship you could possibly desire making a total of 117 ships. On top of that, there are 163 total extra items like Supercolliders, Service Equipment, Fuel Pods and various skins.
The Legatus Pack is purchasable on this page, but to do so or even just to view its contents, you’ll need to have already paid $1,000 USD. Without that, you’ll need to take it up with Star Citizen’s Customer Service. Read more
KOG Games is at it again with more screenshots of PvE combat gameplay in KurtzPel, their PvP heavy spiritual successor to Elsword and Grand Chase. The new screenshots feature the recently revealed Blazing Fist class in an explosive combat session with a giant magical monster. This mano-a-mano takes place in an instanced dungeon called Caverns of Beast where ancient wizards conduct secret experiments on abducted citizens of a nearby village.
KurtzPel will consist mainly of PvP activities with small-scale PvE as part of its progression. There will be a story, but it is unknown how that will integrate with the content. So far, we know that there will be 2-man co-op instanced PvE missions that players can challenge.
Conqueror’s Blade, the in-development sandbox warfare MMO has posted a preview of a new PvPvE world event in which players can fight against world bosses in teams. Players from other kingdoms can steal a boss or attack other teams, so it’s suggested to keep an eye out for enemies.
PvPvE is a term you may have heard of in games like ArcheAge or Crowfall. If not, we’ve got you covered. PvPvE, short for Player vs Player vs Environment refers to a type of scenario that tightly integrates combat between players and combat against non-player characters (AI). As an example, a scenario in which you and perhaps your group have to fight dozens of opposing players while keeping a giant world boss under your thumb.
Wild Buster: Heroes of Titan is an odd cross-over between hack’n’slash MOBA and MMORPG that was initially released as a free-to-play game in South Korea. Its publisher InselGames released the game as buy-to-play in North America just five months ago in December of 2017. Now Insel Games has decided to transfer Wild Buster’s publishing rights to IDC Games, a publishing studio with other MMORPGs like Weapons of Mythology: New Age and Margonem.
The transfer has changed the name of the game altogether from Wild Buster: Heroes of Titan to Champions of Titan. The new publisher has also decided to use a free-to-play business model, perhaps as Insel Games should have done when Wild Buster first launched in the West.
KurtzPel: Bringer of Chaos, KoG Games’ PvP focused spiritual successor of the anime MMORPGs Elsword and Grand Chase has been quite active lately with showcasing the PvE aspects that are being developed for the game. Perhaps this is due to some misconception that the game will only offer instanced PvP arenas. Last month, they revealed screenshots and videos of several characters in combat with PvE bosses. They also revealed a new playable combat style called the Blazing Fist. Now they have shown a brand new boss with a lava-themed reptilian appearance and the “toon line” for a golem-like boss.
KurtzPel: Bringer of Chaos is a PvP heavy action combat multiplayer online brawler game that is deemed by its developers as a spiritual successor of the anime MMORPGs Grand Chase and Elsword. It is currently in development by KOG Games and has only had a playable demo version in last year’s G-star gaming convention. There’s five gameplay showcase videos so far, three of which we’ve already analyzed in a previous article (the PvP, the combat basics and character creation videos). Now the developers have given another pair of teaser videos that give us a glimpse of what KurtzPel’s PvE combat will be like and the newly revealed Blazing Fist combat style.
A little less than one month from now on May 24, the upcoming multiplayer co-op monster hunting game Dauntless will finally head into open beta. To get ready for that and bolster up the amount of content that a large initial burst of players will be basing their judgement on, Pheonix Labs will be releasing the ‘Seeking the Horizon’ update on May 2. The update will come with several new features such as the redefined progression system, a reputation system and more.
The new feature that stands out above many is the addition of ‘hunt’ choices. When it comes to hunting behemoths players will be able to choose between the challenges of a ‘Patrol,’ ‘Expedition’ or ‘Pursuit’.
The Italian indie development startup Dynamight Studios is nearly ready to start their crowd-funding campaign for Fractured, the upcoming class-less isometric MMORPG with a fully interactable open sandbox environment. Their long-planned Kickstarter campaign will start on June 1, 2018. Just last month, they have also managed to raise over $100,000 from private investors to fund the development of the game.
In preparation, the team has shared Fractured’s first pre-alpha gameplay video as seen below. This is the product of the work of a 7 person team with SpatialOS and Unity.
