Gamigo‘s buy-to-play relaunch of ArcheAge dubbed ‘ArcheAge: Unchained‘ has been given a release date. Servers will officially open on September 30th. Many community questions have also been answered thanks to the latest Twitch livestream by Gamigo’s ArcheAge team. Founders Packs are now being offered starting at $25.99 on the official ArcheAge: Unchained site.
After years of staying under the radar, earlier in May of this year, a select group of players in Korea were finally chosen to conduct closed testing of Nexon’s sandbox MMORPG Peria Chronicles. Now, four months later, Korean news source Invenglobal reports that Nexon has announced that “after much discussion, the development of ‘Peria Chronicles’ is stopped.”
Several internal and external tests were conducted for Peria Chronicles and Nexon concluded that the current stage of the game could not satisfy players. The project is now cancelled.
Blizzard has announced that new realms are opening up for World of Warcraft Classic when the game officially launches on Monday August 26th. Nine more realms, five for North America and four for Europe, will be added to combat the threat of terribly long queues.
In addition, Blizzard will be removing the limitation of only creation three total characters per account for WoW Classic. Players will be allowed to create up to “10 characters per Classic realm, for a total of 50 characters across all Classic realms per WoW account.”
Fantasy MMORPG Astellia is now set to officially launch in the West on September 27th. Astellia’s English version will be fully available as a buy-to-play game with a number of differences to the free-to-play Asian version.
Several classes that are gender-locked in Korea will not be gender-locked in the English version. Developer and publisher Barunson E&A promises to provide free one time gender swap vouchers when they launch alternative genders for the classes that do not get gender-unlocked during the launch.
KoG Games has announced that more characters are being rebooted for the free-to-play side-scroll brawler MMORPG Elsword. The character Aisha, Add, Raven and Laby are being reworked and adjusted. Massive changes are coming to the reboot characters. This means reset for skill slots, skill traits, commands, and stats. A list of changes is given in detail on the official Elsword site.
Black Desert on Xbox One has just launched a large content update which introduces the new Archer class and the new Kamasylvia region. The new class utilizes a main crossbow and Greatbow and freely switches between them to deal devastating and agile blows. Kamasylvia is a place of lush forests and vast grasslands. It is also the birthplace of the elven race.
Developers of EVE Online CCP Games and Chinese game publishing and tech giant Netease have announced that EVE: Echoes, the new mobile sandbox MMORPG they are working on will be launching in 2019.
Bandai Namco revealed a new anime-styled MMO called Blue Protocol earlier this month and it has accumulated quite a bit of hype so far, amongst Western fans included. Over the past several weeks, lots of teasers for the new MMO in development were released including a gameplay trailer and a character creation video. The game is in Japanese and already conducted alpha tests in Japan this month.
