New Frontier Is A Wild West Online Rebrand With Alien Monsters & Steampunk Mechs

Free Reign Entertainment, the studio that picked up and launched the remains of Wild West Online after the game was dropped by 512 Games, has made the decision to rebrand. It is likely for the best since Wild West Online received mostly negative reviews. So much so that the game is now unlisted from the Steam store only one year after its release. The late Wild West Online is now essentially being split into two game titles; a battle royale called Magnificent 5 and a new survival/building game called New Frontier.

New Frontier will be set in the wild west, but will not offer an authentic wild west experience. The game will have aliens, radio comm. stations, and steampunk robots.

New Frontier’s Alpha Early Access will launch this week. The developers have chosen to give access and “send login information based on how active (players) have been in Wild West Online.”

  • New Frontier is more of the survival/building game. Ie if you like Rust – you’ll probably like New Frontier. If you like to play Red Dead Redemption – you most likely will not like New Frontier. Okay yes, Rust and Minecraft.
  • New Frontier is not a authentic wild west game. We have alien monsters, we have steampunk walking robots and radio comm stations around the world.
  • If you have Wild West Online account, you can keep using it to play New Frontier. All of your TN balances are intact, all your unlocked cosmetic items are there too. And on top of that we gave you some bonus items – extra Land Deeds, extra TN, and bags to open with gear and stuff.
  • Even tough game is in early access, there’ll be no account wipes. So all your gear, achievements, progress, purchases will survive thru early access and release of the game.
  • Game will stay in early access phase as long as needed. We’re not looking to gather huge audience, so we’ll keep working on a game even if we’ll have small but loyal
  • We plan on releasing new content very often – as often as once per week and we have plans in progress for next 24 weeks.
