My.com has announced that Skyforge will receive a new Battle Royale mode that will soon arrive in the world of Aelion. In Skyforge: Battle Royale, players will fight in a virtual simulation that is maintained by the Argus system. It is the newly instituted entrance exam.
Players can join the Battle Royale mode lobby from the start screen or through the Adventures menu. The update will be available for all players for free on all platforms (PlayStation 4, Xbox One, Windows).
Webzen has announced that MU Online will launch its Season 13 Part 1 update on August 21st. The update will bring new content such as a new area called the Swamp of Darkness, new weapons, increased level cap and more. The Swamp is available for players level 800 or higher and will introduce new and challenging monsters.
Gameforge has acquired the publishing rights to Guardians of Ember. Guardians of Ember developer, Akio has stated that the game is planned to officially relaunch on September 1st in North America and Europe.
Originally published by Insel Games, Guardians of Ember is a traditional hack’n’slash MMORPG that is currently purchasable through the Guardians of Ember site and the Humble Bundle Store. In February of this year, all of Insel Games’ published games, including Guardians of Ember were removed from Steam due to review manipulations.
During today’s Ashes of Creation livestream on Twitch, developer and self-publisher Intrepid Studios has revealed the latest state of the game’s action combat. The video below shows the first look of melee, range and magic combat in the PvP battlegrounds. Players will be able to experience the new combat in the upcoming Alpha One. Intrepid Studios has stated that Phase One of Alpha One is expected to begin sometime in September. Over 8,500 testers will get to try out PvE and PvP scenarios like battlegrounds, city defense and castle sieges.
En Masse Entertainment has revealed that Wolfgang Schneider, the next playable character that is planned to be added to Closers will arrive on August 28th.
Wolfgang is a member of the Wildhüter team. He uses an ancient grimoire – The Black Book to conjure up and summon dark monsters and spirits into battle. Below is the new trailer that shows off his flashy and wizard-like style.
Shroud of the Avatar has announced that as a result of fast progress, a version of the player-made dungeons feature is expected to be added to the game as soon as Q4 2018. Starting example dungeons, complete with loots and monsters, will be used in the game until the player-made dungeons feature finally goes live.
Player-made dungeons will be customizable and expandable. They will also have craftable rooms and/or Add On Store rooms.
Pearl Abyss held the long awaited showcase of the remastered Black Desert Online on August 11th. The event showed graphical enhancements, new music, new UI, a new territory called Ordillta, a new hunting mode, improvements to the story, a new playable class, changes to leveling up and more. Black Desert’s lead graphics programmer talked about changes to physical based rendering, lighting and ocean rendering.
The updates that were announced during the showcase event are based on the Korean version of Black Desert and may be different in other versions. Black Desert: Remastered launches today for users of the Global Lab Testing server and will be patched in to the live server on August 22nd.

Visionary Realms, developer of Pantheon: Rise of the Fallen has revealed three more classes that players will be able to choose; Summoner, Enchanter, and Wizard. All three classes are long-range magic fighters. All of the classes that are planned for launch including the newly introduced trio will be playable in the next testing phase.

During QuakeCon 2018, Bethesda Game Studios is giving everyone the chance to play The Elder Scrolls Online for free until August 15th. The base game and Vvardenfell island will be available to everyone. If you already own the base ESO game, Vvardenfell is available for the duration of the event. This event applies to all platforms (PC/Mac, Xbox One and PlayStation 4).
On top of this, the base game and several of the DLCs including collector’s editions are on sale by 25% to 50% on the official ESO site, Steam Store, PlayStation Store and Xbox Store.
