Phoenix Labs announced that Dauntless, the upcoming multiplayer co-op monster hunting game will head into open beta on May 24th of this year. The Vancouver based indie developer has got their hands full at the moment showcasing Dauntless to gamers in Boston for PAX East 2018.
The studio states that over 100,000 players have already participated in the game’s closed beta and an additional 700,000 players are pre-registered in preparation for the open beta. The game’s open beta was previously expected to come in the later part of 2017, so it’s had time to build up a nice list of players excited to slice tails off of giant lizard beasts.
Laila the Fairy is coming to the Western version of Black Desert Online very soon after this week’s maintenance! The Fairy System is an assistance-based companion system that players will be able to obtain by completing a recurring quest. They can provide a variety of useful skills for traversing the world such as their ability to light dark areas as a functional lantern, auto-purification of water consumption, instant resurrection of a player without penalties and automatically using a potion on a character when HP is low.
Laila has 4 tiers and after every 10 levels, she gains a random new skill. To level her up, players must feed her equipment like Rocaba and Grunil or Sweet Honey Wine.
Worlds Adrift, the open-world sandbox “Community-Crafted MMO” by Bossa Studios will be available on Steam on May 17, 2018. This will be an early access version and access to the game will cost $25. The game offers a world where players can explore and design their surroundings and scour through floating islands by building skyships and competing for resources.
Much has changed since the game underwent a closed beta back in May of last year. The development team has worked on lots of major features like new climbing move-sets that do not kill players which apparently took three to four months to complete. You can read all about what the developers’ plans for the game now, before it leaves early access and further down the line in Worlds Adrift’s roadmap.
Intrepid Studio’s Ashes of Creation shared a showcase video of the guided gameplay that players at PAX East 2018 are able to experience. This time, the developers have control of the five characters in the party. Watch Steven Sharif, Intrepid Studios’ CEO and Creative Director forget to take his quest and shoot ice bolts at decaying monsters.
Perhaps the most criticized issue that can be found in Tree of Savior is the often times frustrating client optimization that causes drastic and dreadful lag issues and dropped frame rates. In the game’s latest Developer’s Blog, the staff presented the results of their Client Performance Optimization efforts so far.
They recorded densely populated maps in three different variations comparing before and after the Client Performance Optimization patch. The difference is almost night and day.
ArtCraft is showing off lots of new exciting features and content for Crowfall focused on exploring the newly finished map, Wrath. Wrath’s landscape is diverse and is the first map to feature new PvE areas called “Adventure Zones” like the Spider Canyon where players can hunt giant spiders and face a world boss for valuable loot.
A new system for player death and recovery was put in place. If a vessel’s health reaches zero, it is knocked unconscious. Players can be resurrected by a Cleric, Druid or Templar or be finished off with a killing blow.
Likely in response to the massive player protests from the North American region that occurred several days ago in regards to server instability and constant lag issues, Black Desert Online will be switching service providers towards the end of April. Will this finally calm the masses and ease the tension building up within the Black Desert community? Only time will tell.
The North American servers will be taken down to initiate the migration process to the new Service Provider and the NA servers will also be utilizing Level 3 Communications as the primary carrier. Two other carriers will be working alongside them to support network stability. All of this comes with Database server upgrades for improved performance.
We’re just a bit over a year into its open beta and now My has applied French and German localization to the Western version of Revelation Online. The game’s interface has been resized to better fit the changes to each language of choice. Why does Revelation Online need to be playable in French and German languages? Beats me. Perhaps the corresponding regions for them have massive presence in the game, but our community reports that population is at a low point for this recently released Chinese port.
Before joining the game’s servers, check to see if you are launching the game in the language you want through the drop down menu in the Game center page. The language options are available on all live servers.
